Rhiannon Giddens

Rhiannon Giddens: A kindred spirit in more ways than one:
When her white father and black mother wed, "it was a huge deal, even for Greensboro," Giddens notes grimly. "They had to go to another town to get a license."

Rhiannon Giddens is an American musician. She is known as the lead singer, violinist, banjo player and a founding member of the Grammy-winning[1] country, blues and old-time music Carolina Chocolate Drops. She is a native of Greensboro, North Carolina and a 2000 graduate of Oberlin Conservatory where she studied opera.
